Knowledge, awareness and practices towards exclusive breastfeeding among lactating mothers in Kashmir, North India: a hospital based cross sectional study

Background: Addressing good breastfeeding practices in lactating mothers is important as it helps bringing about a positive change the behaviour, attitude, and practice with appropriate health education. Hence, this study was conducted to determine knowledge, awareness of regarding identify factors associated it. Methods: We hospital based cross sectional among 349 at pediatric outpatient department tertiary care centre Kashmir, North India between July October 2022. Details socio-demographic characteristics awareness/knowledge were collected using pretested semi-structured questionnaire. Data through face-to-face interview. Results: Majority participants 305 (87.4%) knew meaning exclusive for both mother child. About (68.8%) had moderate knowledge breastfeeding. Chi square test showed significant association level age, education family type where p value 0.000. Conclusions: Our findings that towards breast-feeding low.
